Adnan Turani paintings in New York

The Turkish House in New York is hosting an important exhibition starting today. With support of the Turkish Foreign Ministry and under the organization of New York Consul General Mehmet Samsar, the exhibition will feature a selection from one of the masters of Turkish painting, Adnan Turani.
The Turkish House, which previously hosted works by significant names of Turkish contemporary art like Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu, Devrim Erbil, Canan Tolon and Ahmet Yeşil, will display 15 paintings of Turani. Ten of the paintings are oil paint on canvas and five are on paper.
This will be the first solo exhibition of the artist in the U.S. The works in the exhibition include the latest ones that he has prepared for the exhibition.
The exhibition will continue until Dec. 23.
Turani, was named the Artist of the Year in 1992 and took the Sedat Simavi Prize in 1993. He has participated in many solo and group exhibitions and his paintings have joined in many international exhibitions and biennials since 1960.
