Action plan for traffic fines

A forthcoming traffic safety regulation is set to implement equal road-infraction punishments for everyone, including deputies, judges and prosecutors.
 
The new Traffic Safety Action Plan, which was prepared on the order of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, will end discussions regarding unequal traffic fines. The plan, which is expected to be announced in the Official Gazette, will not include traffic privileges since Erdoğan ordered their removal after receiving complaints. Prior to the new regulations, the Interior Ministry had given an order not to fine police, gendarmes or deputies. 

However, debates arose after it was revealed that some judges and prosecutors exceeding the speed limit or running red lights in their private vehicles were escaping fines.
