5.2 earthquake shakes Turkey’s Antalya

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 struck the Demre district of the southern Antalya province in the early hours of Oct. 7, with no casualties or serious material damages reported.The epicenter of the quake, which took place at 12:27 a.m., was 34.92 kilometers below the Earth’s surface, data from Turkey’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) showed.
The Demre District Governor Murat Uz told state-run Anadolu Agency that there were no casualties reported, adding that damage assessment would begin in the morning hours of Oct. 7 with the help of security and rescue forces.

Meanwhile, the 5.2 magnitude quake was also felt in the Milas district of the Aegean Muğla province and the Şarkikaraağaç district of the southern Isparta province.
