30 PKK militants killed in air operation in northern Iraq: Army

ANKARA

A total of 30 militants from the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) were killed in air operations conducted in the Gara region of northern Iraq on Sept. 5, the Turkish Armed Forces has announced.

It said senior figures of the organization were among those killed in the operation.

It added that two PKK targets were also destroyed in the air operation.

In addition, the military also announced that Turkish warplanes destroyed 12 PKK targets in northern Iraq late on Sept. 5.

Four sites hit in the Metina and the other eight sites were hit in the Hakurk regions of northern Iraq, the military said in a statement.
