16 PKK militants ‘neutralized’ in two days in Turkey’s Tunceli

Authorities use the word “neutralized” to refer to militants who are killed, wounded or captured.
The Tunceli Governor’s Office said in a statement that security forces and PKK militants engaged in an armed clash in the Aliboğazı region on April 27 at around 11 a.m.
Nine PKK militants were “neutralized” during the clashes, it stated.
One of the militants was killed, one was captured wounded while the other seven surrendered to security forces, it added.
Separately, another seven PKK militants were “neutralized” on April 26 during an air operation targeting militants in the Pülümür district, according to the governor’s office.
It said eight of the militants were killed, one of them was captured wounded and the other seven surrendered to security forces during an air operation conducted in the Kızılmescit region.
The total number of “neutralized” militants in the province in two days to has risen to 16.
The governor’s office also added that operations in the region were continuing.
