Fifteen militants who surrendered themselves to security services in the southeastern province of Şırnak after running away from camps of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party in northern Iraq have been released, daily Milliyet reported today.
Eight of the militants were released by a Diyarbakır court on the basis of the “penitence law” after being questioned at the Diyarbakır Public Prosecutors' Office.
Seven of the militants under the age of 18 were reportedly released in Şırnak's Silopi district, where they surrendered.
