15 injured in train accident in Turkey’s Sivas

At least 15 people were injured when a passenger train collided with a freight train in Turkey’s Central Anatolian province of Sivas on Nov. 26.
The passenger train — en route to Sivas from the Divriği district — crashed into a freight train while it was at a halt in the Ulaş district.
Units from the local gendarmerie, the National Medical Rescue Team (UMKE) and the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), as well as health teams, were dispatched to the area following the accident.
The injured were taken to nearby hospitals. According to local officials, none of the injured is in critical condition.
The cause of the collision is unknown, but technical teams are carrying out an investigation to determine the reason of the accident.
