6 PKK militants killed in Turkey’s Siirt

A total of six outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) militants were killed in the southeastern province of Siirt, said a Turkish General Staff statement on July 22.The statement said PKK militants opened harassing fire on Turkish soldiers in the rural area of Siirt's Pervari district early on July 21, while the soldiers were passing through the area.
The soldiers immediately responded, and one militant was killed.
Later on Friday, an air-supported operation was launched against the terrorists in the same area, who were found to be preparing to attack military posts.
Five militants were killed in the operation.
