35 people detained KCK operations

Turkish police detained 35 people in six provinces including the southern province of Mersin yesterday as part of Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK) operations.The operations against the KCK, the alleged urban wing of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), took place during the morning hours yesterday. Units from Mersin Police Office Anti-Terror Department raided selected addresses, and police also searched the Human Rights Association’s (İHD) Mersin office and detained the office head, Ali Tanrıverdi.
Meanwhile, simultaneous operations were reportedly conducted in five other provinces, including the southern province of Adana and the southeastern province of Diyarbakır. According to reports, 35 were detained, and this number may increase.
