Fifteen-year-old Berkin Elvan, the eighth person to be killed in the Gezi Park protests, was sent into a coma after sustaining a head injury from a gas canister as he went to buy bread during a police crackdown in Istanbul’s Okmeydanı neighborhood last June.

His death not only caused deep sorrow, but also outrage across the nation against the police's penchant for wanton violence. While #BerkinElvanÖlümsüzdür (Berkin Elvan is immortal) became a new slogan to denounce impunity and brutality, artists have also contributed their share to immortalize the young teenager using their own talent.
