17th Book Fair opens in İzmir

The TÜYAP 17th İzmir Book Fair, which opened on the weekend, was rushed by thousands of citizens. A model of the late chairman of the former Social Democrat Party (SHP), Erdal İnönü, who died in 2007, drew a lot interest at the stand opened by the Social Democracy Foundation. Lots of visitors posed with the İnönü model.

Writer Aynur Tartan autographed her cookbooks at the fair, drawing interest from readers. The book, titled “Bak Mutfakta Hayat Var” (There is life in the kitchen), includes recipes from Turkey’s famous cinema and theater artists as well as politicians. Tartar also has a program, “Burada Hayat Var,” (There is life here) on CNN Turk television channel.

The 17th İzmir Book Fair will continue until April 17.
