17 detained in operation against PKK in southeastern Turkey

The police have detained 17 people in the southeastern province of Siirt as part of an operation against the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) militants.Teams from the anti-terror department and special operations department of the Siirt police held raids on several addresses in the city early this morning.
17 people, including minors, have been detained in the quarters of Conkbayır and Dumlupınar as part of the operation on the PKK’s youth organizations. The detainees are still being questioned in the police department, while their parents have applied to the Human Rights Association (İHD) for legal support.
