15 PKK militants killed in air operations in Turkey’s southeast, northern Iraq

A total of 15 outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) militants were killed in air operations in the southeastern province of Hakkari and northern Iraq on May 18.Turkish warplanes hit PKK targets in the Metina region of northern Iraq in three raids, along with another operation in the Hakurk region, shortly after intelligence was received.
Warplanes also conducted another air operation targeting PKK positions in rural areas of the Şemdinli district of Hakkari between 7 p.m. and 8.25 p.m. Weapons pits and sanctuaries used by the militants were destroyed in the operation, which reportedly killed 15 militants.
