Fourteen Turkish provinces each made exports worth over $1 billion in the first 10 months of 2013, according to data from the Turkish Exporters’ Assembly (TİM).The province of Istanbul has made exports worth $52.21 billion in the period, accounting for around 42 percent of total Turkish exports. Total exports hit $124.4 billion in the January-October 2013 period.
Bursa province with $10.67 billion and Kocaeli province with $10.56 billion took second and third place respectively, making over $10 billion of exports in the first 10 months of the year.
İzmir had exports worth $7.29 billion, while capital Ankara had exports worth $5.89 billion.
Total exports at $124 bln
Turkey’s total exports, covering the period between January-October, decreased 0.2 percent to $124.3 billion from the same period a year earlier, the TİM announced on Nov. 1. Turkey’s imports in the last 12 months reached $150.7 billion, increasing 1.7 percent, it said.
