The number of wounded Palestinians evacuated from the Gaza Strip for treatment in Turkey has reached 123, according to a written statement released by the Turkish Foreign Ministry on Sept. 26.

Turkey brought another group of wounded Palestinians to Turkey for medical treatment on Sept. 23, and 41 others have returned to Palestine after completing treatment, it said.

The statement noted that along with humanitarian assistance for Palestinians, Turkey continues to contribute to efforts for a sustainable cease-fire.

Ankara began evacuating wounded Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to Turkey on Aug. 11. The Health Ministry, the General Staff, the Turkish Cooperation and Development Agency (TİKA) and the Turkish Red Crescent (Kızılay) have been working together to treat the patients.
