11 detained in operation against DHKP/C in Turkey's Hatay, Istanbul

Eleven people have been detained in a police raid as part of an operation into the outlawed Revolutionary People’s Liberation Party/Front (DHKP/C) in the southern province of Hatay and in Istanbul.

The police detained 10 people in Hatay and one other in Istanbul during the operations held on Nov. 8 and Nov. 9, the Hatay Governor’s office said in a statement today.

“Ten members of DHKP/C were detained on Friday as part of operations held by the security forces in our city. On Saturday, one person, named as Y.V., was detained in Istanbul increasing the number of detainees to 11,” said the Hatay governor’s office today.

A broad investigation had been opened into the case, the statement added.
