Syria evacuates consulate in Turkey's southeast

Syria evacuated its consulate general in Turkey's southeastern province of Gaziantep today.Consul General Mohammad Najdat Shahid refused to comment on the evacuation.
Some of the furniture would be sent to the Syrian Embassy in Ankara and the rest would be sent to the Consulate General in Istanbul, sources said.
Syria closed its consulate in Gaziantep for five days early December before halting diplomatic procedures as of Dec. 26, 2011.
