Soldier succumbs to wounds after PKK attack in southeastern Turkey

A Turkish soldier succumbed to his wounds on March 10 after sustaining injuries in an outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) attack in southeastern Diyarbakır’s Sur district last month.The soldier was wounded in an armed attack by PKK militants during an anti-terror operation in Sur on Feb. 18. He was being treated at the Gülhane Military Academy (GATA) in Ankara when he died.
The Turkish Armed Forces released an official statement on the soldier’s death, extending condolences to the soldier’s family.
