It was listed by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) as one of 200 locations across the globe that requires protection for its unique flora, fauna and ecosystem.
Forty-three-year-old Mükime Türkyılmaz, one of the newly graduated women guides, is a local of Çat village in the valley.
Field guides help tourists to learn about the local habitat, while also preserving nature, Türkyılmaz told the agency.
“One of our particular concerns is plastic waste thrown around the national park by tourists. Unfortunately, we can only warn them as we have no legal authority to enforce any sanctions,” she added.
