Turkey’s south piques scuba divers’ attention
Turkey’s south piques scuba divers’ attention
With its 640-kilometer-long coast and hundreds of beaches, the southern province of Antalya welcomes millions of domestic and foreign tourists every year.
Scuba divers are some of them. Antalya’s 222 diving sites have drawn scuba divers’ attention after local authorities opened them, unveiling an underwater world by the Mediterranean.
About 1,000 divers plunge into the waters of Antalya on a daily basis.
Due to its location in the eastern Mediterranean ecosystem, Antalya embellishes the scuba diving tourism industry with its crystal-clear waters, natural reef zones, wide-range of biodiversity and aquatic species migrating from the Red Sea.
Its prominent diving spots have put Antalya in the lead to become one of the most popular destinations in Europe regarding diving.
