The lake, located inside Mount Nemrut, is the largest crater lake in Europe. It is also the second largest crater lake around the globe.
Nemrut Crater Lake, with an altitude of 2,250 meters, was also celebrated by the European Destinations of Excellence (EDEN) as it was awarded in 2010.
Apart from enjoying the scenic beauty of the lake, visitors can also revel in the hot and cold-water lakes, the ice cave and thermal baths, in which they can swim.
The area also embodies an abundance of historical and cultural heritage as visitors can see the ancient ruins and monuments dating back to the Ottoman Empire.
