Three police officers, two soldiers killed in PKK attacks

Two policemen and one soldier were killed in a clash in the town center of the Yüksekova district in Hakkari province. One policeman and eight soldiers were also injured. 

Meanwhile, one police officer was killed on March 22 in a PKK attack in the Mazıdağı district of the southeastern province of Mardin. 

PKK militants detonated a bomb placed on the road during the passing of an armored police vehicle, killing one special operations police officer and wounding three other police officers. The wounded officers were taken to various hospitals in Mardin.

An operation has started in the district to apprehend the militants responsible for the attack.

One soldier was killed and seven others were wounded on March 22 in a PKK attack in the Nusaybin district of the province.

PKK militants detonated a bomb placed on the road during the passing of an armored vehicle carrying soldiers in the district’s Dicle neighborhood. The wounded soldiers were taken to Nusaybin State Hospital for treatment.

Twenty-three PKK militants were killed in Mardin, Şırnak and Hakkari provinces on March 21, the Turkish military announced on March 22.

According to the General Staff statement, three PKK members were killed in Mardin’s Nusaybin district on March 21, which increased the total number of militants killed in the province to 45 since operations began.        
In Şırnak, eight PKK militants were killed on March 20, bringing the total number of terrorists killed in the province to 41 since operations began.        

In Hakkari, 12 militants were killed in the Yüksekova district, bringing the total number of terrorists killed in the province to 57 since operations began.    
   
In addition, two people were reportedly captured in Batman province for “aiding and abetting” the PKK.
