EU ambassadors pay respects to Ankara victims

Ambassadors from European Union countries paid their respects to the 97 victims of the twin blasts at a peace rally in Ankara.
     
The ambassadors on Oct. 12 laid flowers outside Ankara's main train station - the site of the Turkey's deadliest terror attack in years.
     
They arrived in a convoy of cars bearing their countries flags.

Meanwhile, U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon called Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and extended his condolences for the 97 victims of a twin suicide bombing in Ankara on Oct. 10, state-run Anadolu Agency reported. 

Ban said he strongly condemned and was saddened by the terror attack that had hit Turkey. 

Erdoğan, on the other hand, thanked for U.N.’s support after the attack and added that Turkey had mobilized all its means to bring the details of the attack to light.

The Oct. 10 attacks drew widespread condemnation from Turkey's allies.
