Bus goes up in flames on Diyarbakır highway, passengers saved

Firefighters extinguished the blaze in the inter-city bus, which caught fire in the middle of the highway.

An inter-city bus bound for the southeastern province of Diyarbakır caught fire in the middle of the highway near Batman on June 22. The cause of the serious fire was not immediately clear.

All the 45 travelers on board were saved, after the driver pulled over upon a warning from passengers.

Only one passenger was injured, badly affected by the smoke. 

The fire started in the hood of the bus and all passenger luggage caught fire. 

Passengers were also unable to save their belongings on board.
