Bus carrying migrants in Aegean crashes, six killed

Six people, including four migrants, were killed early Jan. 8 in the Aegean province of Çanakkale when a bus carrying migrants collided with a car.The bus, which was carrying Syrian, Afghani and Burmese migrants to Çanakkale’s Ayvacık to illegally cross Greece’s island of Lesbos, crashed into a car around 4 a.m.
The car’s driver and its passenger were killed in the accident along with four migrants in the bus. Meanwhile, some 30 migrants were also injured in the crash and were transferred to nearby hospitals.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
