British, U.S. Consul Generals attend Pride in Istanbul

British, U.S. Consul Generals attend Pride in Istanbul Two major consul generals in Istanbul have taken to Istanbul’s famous Istiklal Street to show their support for the LGBTI community in Istanbul during the Istanbul Pride March.

British Consul-General to Istanbul Leigh Turner and his U.S. counterpart, Charles Hunter, attended the June 28 Pride March in Istanbul, along with main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) Istanbul deputy Sezgin Tanrıkulu and Beşiktaş Mayor Murat Haznedar.

Turner shared a photo from the march on his Twitter account and is seen with a rainbow flag.
