Applications for new pre-licenses for solar, wind in April 2015
ISTANBUL - Anadolu Agency
Turkey plans to start to accept applications for new pre-license in solar power by the beginning of April 2015, and wind power by the end of the same month, energy watchdog EPDK head Hasan Köktaş said yesterday.“We’ll take the latest changes in the related regulations stipulating the requirements of solar and wind power over the last three years, in line with the standards lasting at least one year,” Köktaş said.
The share of wind power has reached 4.5 percent of Turkey’s 61,000 (megawatts) mW total installed power capacity, with a number of wind power plants having a capacity of over 1,000 mW.
“Some $4 billion has been invested in wind power over the last decade,” Köktaş said.
The EPDK has provided licenses for the installment of 9,679 mW of wind power plants until now.
“Some 2,676 mW of these are online now. Twenty-one projects are in the process of getting a pre-license,” he added.
