11 additional neighborhoods under curfew in Nusaybin

The military has imposed a curfew in 11 additional neighborhoods in the Nusaybin district of southeastern Mardin province, increasing the total number of curfew-imposed neighborhoods to 15.The Nusaybin District Governor’s Office released a written statement explaining the curfew, which was imposed to reinstitute “peace and security,” will be enforced until further notice.
“In addition, starting from 10 a.m. on Dec. 21, 2015, a curfew has been imposed in the stated regions [Nusaybin’s Yenituran, Yeşilkent, Mor Yakup, Zeynelabidin, Kışla, 8 Mart, Gırnavas, Devrim, Selahaddin Eyyubi, İpekyolu and Barış neighborhoods] in order to prevent civilians from getting hurt,” it said.
Four of Nusaybin’s neighborhoods, Abdulkadirpaşa, Fırat, Dicle and Yenişehir, had already been under curfew.
